It's a good shoulder workout when you add some weight to your arms. It was also a really good workout for my back. My legs were feeling the results afterward, but my back was working hard during the exercise.

15 pushups. (Pretty hard with wobbly legs and back.)

30 situps.

Crunches: I don't know how many. I got back late from work and crashed. So I made sure I exercised on Saturday. I immediately felt some tight muscles, which basically told me that I really should have some something on Friday, even if it was just a quick jog and stretch. I would have felt much better on Saturday.

2 mile warm up. sub 8 minute pace on average. During the warmup, I watched some craptacular international sumo wrestling on ESPN2. It wasn't very good. All the non-asian countries' wrestlers were very physically fit, but way too small to compete (aka not heavy enough) to be competitive. The commentators were of a pretty amateurish level as well. I think they're trying to showcase the sport to a new westerna audience. If you want to see some entertaining and good sumo wrestling, try to find a professional basho on television. ESPN and other smaller sports networks carry them sometimes.

Back to the workout.

Stretching. Drink water.

I'm a little sketchy on the # of reps and weights, since I didn't record this immediately, but I think I've got them all.

Situps and crunches:
2 sets of 30, 1 set of 25

Pushups:
3 sets of 15

PT for knees (last 15% movement of leg extensions):
4 sets of 25 each leg @ 35 lbs

Leg Extentions / Quads:
(these are still really tough after the PT)
1 set of 20 @ 80 lbs
1 set of 15 @ 80 lbs

Inner Thigh / Groin / Hip Adductors:
2 sets of 25 @ 90 lbs

Outer Thigh / Hips:
2 sets of 25 @ 70 lbs

Upright Flys / Shoulders:
2 sets of 15 @ 10 lbs

Lat Pulls / Back / Shoulders / Arms:
2 sets of 25 @ 80 lbs

Leg Press:
(I did these mostly to stretch out, and get a better range of motion than leg curls provide. Also, I was able to work the muscles for my knees in the downward motion.)
I did a whole bunch, in one set only, at just enough weight to help me stretch. Somewhere between 30 - 45 reps. The weight was maybe 80 lbs.

Workouts

Wednesday

2 mile warmup

stretch

situps: 1 set 20 reps
crunches: 1 sets 20 reps

pushups: 2 sets 15 reps

short range leg extensions: 4 sets each leg 25 reps @ 30 lbs
full range leg extensions: 2 sets 25 reps @ 60 lbs

(the regular leg extensions are a bitch after doing the targeted PT stuff)

inner thigh (also recommended PT for aligning my kneecaps): 2 sets 25 reps @ 80 lbs
I do these repetitions as a combination of regular resistance movement followed by an isometric flex at the top of the movement.

hips/out thigh ( I frequently get cramps in these muscles at the end of ultimate tournaments from overuse, so I'm going to make a concerted effort to train them up before I really have to put them to work): 2 sets 20 reps @ average 65 lbs (I flipped between 60 and 70 lbs - couldn't find a 5 lb add-on weight)

I tried to use a back weight machine, but couldn't get it adjusted. Turns out it was for lower back muscles, which I'm not too concerned about anyway - I'll just body weight them if I need to in the future.

hamstring leg curls: 2 sets 20 reps @ 60 lbs
I need to take it easy with the leg curls until my IT bands gain back flexibility. I do these with the same isometric flex at the top of the movement.

lateral / upper back pull downs: 2 sets 20 reps @ 60 lbs
I tried to focus these on my upper back to hopefully strengthen up the muscle I pulled last spring that's given me trouble since.

thought I was done, but then I remembered that some shoulder workouts I did last year helped me keep my shoulders in better working order during the season. I think the extra strength helped my hucks and pulls, too. So...

upright flys: 2 sets 15 reps with 10 lb weights

I do all my after stretching after and between individual exercises and sets, so I don't do a lot at the end.

Then dinner :D

First Lazy Ass Workout of the New Year

Monday

2 mile jog/run warmup, average 8 min/mi pace.

Stretch

PT for knees: short range leg extensions to work the inner quadricep.
1 set 25 reps each leg 20 lbs
2 sets 25 reps each leg 25 lbs
1 set 25 reps each leg 30 lbs

Full leg extensions
1 set 25 reps 60 lbs

Crunches
2 sets 25 reps

Pushups
1 set 20 reps

More Cool Stuff

Changed the layout a little bit. Then I was curious about how much I could customize the blog template.

I started trying to add some javascript to maybe do something cool. After some stupid mistakes from trying to edit code within a textarea on a web page ( '=='!='=' ) ( if you can read that, you know what I mean by "stupid mistakes" ), I hit the f5 key of truth, and... nothing.

Can't get my JS to work within the blogger HTML. It works within my little test shell I created. It's pretty simple. I'll keep playing with it. I'm convinced it can work. Now I'm copying and pasting to and from VS, so now I can work full screen and with color coding. Hopefully it'll help spot the problem.

All I Wanted to do...

All I wanted to do was post a comment to a blog, and look what blogger made me do.

Stupid hoops.
Stupid jumping.

I might as well just register with the NY Times now as well.
